A very interesting story about flight attendants from the NYT. (Click the link!!). A reporter went 'underground, at 35K ft' and actually posed as a flight attendant for this story.
A good read that presents the other side of air travel...you'd have to admit the only side we hear are how the flight was late, they ran out of blankets and the hostess forgot to serve 3rd can of coke you had asked for.
Indian flight attendants- particularly those on LCCs, would well empathize with this article and have many stories of their own to add. Imagine the diversity in people, dress and languages encountered in a day on the Srinagar-Delhi-Baroda-Mumbai-Bangalore-Hyderabad sector of Go Air!
For the record, I'm always nice to them and try to make their jobs as easy as possible.
And yes, I always make it a point to go the loo before they start the food & drinks service.
